Claim Credit

General Credit Claiming Information

After completing the requirements for an accredited activity (pre-test, activity material, post-test, activity evaluation & reflective statement), you can claim credit.
  1. You must claim credit for both live and online activities (online activity credit is no longer automatically earned).
  2. Most activities only allow you to claim credit once.
  3. For enduring (online asynchronous) activities, you will typically be directed to claim the full amount of credit for the activity.
  4. For live activities and some on-demand versions of live meetings, you can claim partial credit and should claim only the credit commensurate with your participation in the activity.
  5. If you claimed ABIM or ABIM MOC, it may take up to 48 hours for your credit to appear in your online portal.
  6. If you claimed ACPE, it may take up to 30 days for your credit to appear in CPE Monitor.
  7. Activity Completion Requirements
  8. For most activities with credit, you must complete the following:
    1. Pre-test
    2. Activity material
    3. Post-test (with a score of 70% or higher)
    4. Activity Evaluation & Reflective Statement
  9. After you have enrolled in an activity, the Activity Overview page will display the requirements to earn credit for that activity. See the Navigate Online Activities article for more information about how to complete activities.

Claiming Credit in an Activity

Credit Claiming Information Page

All activities with credit contain a Credit Information page. The Credit Information page provides all information about the type and amount of credit available, instructions for claiming credit, and the credit claiming deadline.

After reviewing the credit claiming information, click Next to claim credit.

Claiming Credit

To claim credit:
  1. After completing all of the activity requirements, click the Claim Credit link in the activity. A page will display showing instructions for claiming credit and the max credit available for the activity. Note, however, that different credit types may have different max credit amounts that can be claimed.
  2. From the Credit Type drop-down, select the credit type you wish to claim.

  3. For most enduring (online) activities, you cannot modify the credit to be claimed, as shown below.

  4. For live and on-demand activities (e.g. Convergence), you may claim partial credit by entering the amount of credit you wish to claim in the Enter Credit field. Credit must be entered in 0.25 increments and should be commensurate with your actual participation in the activity.
Note: For Convergence only, you can change the number of credits you have claimed for a meeting, up until the expiration date. When updating credit, enter the total amount of credit you wish to claim for the activity. You cannot enter less credit than previously claimed.
  5. If claiming ABIM or ABP MOC, your birthdate and ABIM or ABP number are required. If they already exist in your ACR account profile, those fields will be pre-filled with that information.
  6. If claiming ACPE, your birthdate and NABP e-PID are required. If they already exist in your ACR account profile, those fields will be pre-filled with that information.
  7. Click the Authorization checkbox to authorize ACR to share completion data with ACCME and your certifying board.
  8. Then click Submit Credit. Your credit is claimed and the following message displays.
After you have claimed credit, you can view, print and/or download a certificate associated with the credit type you claimed. See the Certificates article for more information.
